Samsung Oven E-27 error code
The oven temperature sensor circuit is open - the control board cannot read the sensor at all. The oven cannot regulate heat without it, so it locks out heating.

What causes the E-27 error?
- Failed oven temperature sensor
- Broken sensor wire
- Loose or corroded sensor connector
- Damaged wiring harness to the control board
- Failed main control board
How to fix Samsung E-27 — step by step
Work through these in order, from simplest and safest first. Stop as soon as the code clears.
- Press Clear/Off and restart
Clear the code and try the oven again. A momentary connection glitch can throw E-27 once without a real failure. - Disconnect power for 30 seconds
Flip the oven's breaker off for at least 30 seconds, then restore power. This is Samsung's documented reset step for sensor codes before service. - Do not keep running the oven
Without a working sensor the oven cannot control temperature - it may not heat at all or could overheat. Leave it off until the sensor is checked.
When to call a technician
- E-27 returns after a reset
- The sensor needs multimeter testing or replacement
- Sensor wiring or connectors are damaged
- The main control board is suspect
Frequently asked questions
What does 'sensor opened' mean?
It means the electrical circuit through the temperature sensor is broken - like a cut wire. The control sees infinite resistance and knows the sensor cannot be read.
Can I test the sensor myself?
A good Samsung oven sensor reads about 1080 ohms at room temperature with a multimeter. But reaching it means pulling the oven out and removing panels - most homeowners should call a technician.
Is E-27 the same as E-28?
They are siblings: E-27 is the sensor circuit open, E-28 is the sensor shorted. Both are temperature sensor faults needing the same kind of repair.
