About FixCode
FixCode is a free reference that explains home-appliance and HVAC error codes in plain English. Every code page gives you three things: what the equipment detected, what usually causes it, and which safe checks to try first — in that order.
How we verify every code
- Official sources only. Meanings and fix steps are researched from manufacturer support documentation and official service literature — never copied from random repair forums.
- Paraphrased, not pasted. Manuals are written for technicians; we rewrite them for homeowners.
- Skipped when unverifiable. If a code cannot be confirmed in an official source, it does not get a page. A missing page is more honest than a guessed one.
- Safety-first ordering. Fix steps run from simplest and safest to most advanced, and every page tells you exactly when to stop and call a qualified technician.
Who publishes FixCode
FixCode is published as a brand, not a person: there are no author personas or invented expert bios here. Our credibility comes from the method above and from the manufacturer sources cited on every page — check them yourself in each page's "Sources" section.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, Bosch, GE, Frigidaire, Maytag, Kenmore, Lennox, Goodman, or any other manufacturer; brand names are used only to identify the equipment our guides refer to. We are not a repair service, and our guides are general information — not a substitute for professional diagnosis. For in-warranty repairs, contact the manufacturer or an authorized service provider first.
Keeping pages current
Every code and guide page shows its last-updated date, and our XML sitemap carries the build date for each URL. Pages are re-checked against manufacturer documentation when the site is updated.
