What causes the f0 error?
- CLEAR/OFF key physically stuck
- Moisture or spills on the keypad
- Defective touchpad membrane
- Wiring fault between keypad and control board
- Failed oven control board
How to fix LG f0 — step by step
Work through these in order, from simplest and safest first. Stop as soon as the code clears.
- Power reset at the breaker
Turn the oven breaker off for 1 to 2 minutes, then turn it back on. This clears false key-short readings. - Clean the control panel
Wipe the panel with a clean, dry cloth. Look for any button that sits lower than the others or feels stuck, and press each key to free it. - Check for moisture
Steam or cleaning spray can seep under the panel and short the keys. Let the panel dry fully, and avoid spraying cleaner directly on it in the future.
When to call a technician
- F0 returns after a reset and drying
- A key is physically stuck down
- Multiple keys stop responding
- The touchpad or control board needs replacing
Frequently asked questions
Can I still use the oven with F0?
Usually not. The oven locks out cooking until the key fault clears, since it cannot trust the controls.
Why would a key short on its own?
Spills, steam, and cleaner seeping under the membrane are the usual causes. Heat then breaks the membrane down.
Is F0 the same as F3?
Similar but different. F0 is specifically the CLEAR/OFF key shorted over 100 seconds. F3 is any key shorted over 60 seconds.
